Leon Bruckman

Leon Bruckman is IP Light Vice-President for Systems Engineering. IP Light is a start-up company dealing with the edge of optical telecommunications. Leon has over 38 years of high-level technical work in multiple fields in Optical Telecommunications and Datacom. He also contributed to ITU-T SG15 in the development of the CPRI over OTN standard, and to IEE 1914 as a technical editor. Prior to joining IP Light Leon was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Corrigent Systems (1999-2008), a Datacom and Optical Networking vendor. In this capacity Leon managed Corrigent’s systems group, was responsible for the interaction with international standardization bodies (ITU-T, IETF, IEEE, T11) and also served as Technical Editor for the 802.17 IEEE work-group. Prior to this position (1996-1999) Leon was also the VP R&D for Hynex Networks, a privately held company specializing in ATM networking gear. Throughout 1982-1996 Leon held numerous R&D positions with Tadiran Telecom. Along with his industry position, Leon lectures on various telecommunications areas in the Jerusalem College of Technology and in Logtel. Leon holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Cum Laude) from the Technion Technological institute in Haifa and a MBA (Cum Laude) from the School of Management of the Bar-Ilan University. Leon also holds over 35 patents in various fields in Telecommunications.
